This is for sure! A remake of the first part of “The Witcher” will be created

Exactly 15 years after the premiere of the first part of the cult The Witcher 1 , the developers announced the official remake of the game. It looks like we will return to Vizima in a big way.

Geralt’s fans have real reasons to be happy: alongside a completely new game, a remake of The Witcher 1 from 2007 is being made. Despite its years, the production is still extremely popular among players. The first part, full of nostalgia, is, as the creators themselves point out, the game that started it all. The remake of the game has been speculated for a long time, and it was eagerly anticipated by many fans. Suspicions about the implementation of the project have intensified recently , as a result of the mysterious Canis Majoris , appearing in the plans of CD Projekt.

The creators also revealed that the game will be created using the Unreal Engine 5 engine, and that the Polish studio Fool’s Theory will be responsible for its production. Previously, it was associated with titles such as Baldurs Gate II I or Seven: The Days Long Gone. However, CD Projekt Red is still responsible for creative supervision. The game is still at a fairly early stage of production, but the developers have announced that they will reveal more details in due course.

The Witcher was the beginning of CD PROJEKT RED, that’s where it all started for us. It was our first game and a turning point for the studio. The remake is also important because it will be an opportunity for a new generation of players to experience the beginning of Geralt’s story for the first time.  We know the Fool’s Theory team well, including our colleagues who worked with us on the series. First of all, they are wildly ambitious people who create great games. They know the source material and realize that players have been counting on this remake for a long time. This is just the beginning of this project, but I believe it will be worth the wait .
