A new Max service will be created – a combination of HBO Max and Discovery +. The platform has just ordered a Harry Potter series with JK Rowling as executive producer.
Max, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max, has ordered an original TV series based on JK Rowling’s Harry Potter . This will be the first Harry Potter series , after the platform launched a successful franchise of movies and video games. The announcement came during a presentation where Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled Max. The author is also attached to the untitled series as an executive producer. Warner Bros. states that “every Rowling Harry Potter book will become a decade-long series”, which at first glance seems like a sizable investment, although the company is certainly counting on it to be on par with Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.
We are excited to give viewers the opportunity to experience Hogwarts in a whole new way. Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon, and it’s clear that the wizarding world is so consistently loved and thirsty. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will take a deep dive into each of the iconic books that fans continue to enjoy all these years.

Max combines HBO Max and Discovery+ content
After a long discussion, HBO Max and Discovery+ merge to create the Max platform. Warner Bros. CEO Discovery’s David Zaslav made the announcement during a Wednesday press conference. The event also confirmed that the new service will launch on May 23. Max aims to be a site with a wide library that can offer something to anyone looking for something to watch. It will also be the home of Warner Bros. properties, including the DC universe. HBO, which has been removed from its name, will revert to being a Warner Bros. brand. in the premium TV offer.

He also took a moment to note that Warner Bros. Studios will be 100 years old in 2023. According to a previous report, Max will debut at the same price as HBO Max already has. This includes the ad-supported tier for $10. Without ads, it is expected to cost $16. The third tier costs $20 and offers better video quality and other additional features.
