The work on the set was confirmed by the director of the title himself, James Wan. The creator published an eloquent photo and no less suggestive description on his Instagram profile. They leave no doubt:
The title of “two” refers to the seven kingdoms of Atlantis, of which the audience has already got to know six. Necrus, which is also the working title of the film, is a place on the edge of the underwater world. Its inhabitants are hostile to those on the surface, led by Mongo. What’s special about the Necrus is that it only appears occasionally. What’s more, it can move and it is impossible to indicate its permanent location.
For several weeks now, the crew and the cast of Aquaman have teased DC fans about the production, sharing photos and other material from it on social media. Amber Heard, who plays the role of Mery, posted a post which tells us that she was warmly welcomed back to the cast by James Wan after much controversy arose around her and her ex-husband, Johnny Deep.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays the Black Manta, was also active in the network. In the upcoming Aquaman, the character will play an even greater role than before. Consequently, the actor posted a photo where he makes notes about his performance in the film.
And Patrick Wilson, playing King Orm, only fueled the atmosphere, announcing that the continuation of the story of Aquaman (Jason Momoa) would be even better – richer in action and even more interesting, although the same characters.
Although filming of Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom has just started, it has already been announced that the production will hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
