Although season 2 of the Netflix fantasy blockbuster still hasn’t had its premiere, the writing team reportedly rolled up their sleeves and began work on the series’ third season. According to the same sources (Redanian Intelligence), the line-up responsible for the production scenario will be the same as in the upcoming sequel to The Witcher , with slight changes. This information has not been officially confirmed, but any news about season 3 is a good sign that Netflix will actually extend the series.
As most reports show, the past WitcherCon turned out to be a huge success for the website, CD Projekt Red and the Witcher universe in general, especially since the latter is in for further development: this year we will not only get a sequel to the series launched in 2019, but also the anime movie The Witcher: Bane of the wolf , which will start on Netflix in August.
The Witcher sequel , The Witcher: Blood Origin, will also debut in 2022 , telling the story of the first monster hunter, 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia. CD Projekt Red also has several new projects up its sleeve, including The Witcher 3 for next-gen consoles. Before that happens, we will see the second season of the series in December.
Driven by the conviction that Yennefer died at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt will take Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows – the Kaer Morhen fortress. While the ambitions of kings, elves, humans and demons extend beyond the borders of the continent, as a result of which they seek to dominate other lands, the White Wolf must protect the girl from something much more dangerous: a mysterious power hidden within her.
The series stars Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Ciri), Joey Batey (Dandelion), MyAnna Buring (Tissaia), Mimi Ndiweni (Fringilla), Lars Mikkelsen (Stregobor) and Anna Shaffer ( Triss).
We will see the second season of The Witcher on Netflix at the end of this year, on December 17.
