The premiere of the second season of The Witcher will take place in the fourth quarter of this year. This information was released during a meeting devoted to discussing Netflix’s revenues for the first three months of 2021. It came directly from the company’s co-president, Ted Sarandos.
In his speech, he drew attention to delays in some projects caused by the coronavirus and post-production works. According to the forecasts of Sarandos and other Netflix representatives, the situation will stabilize in the second half of this year. In turn, the premieres of several of the most popular series, including The Witcher, are scheduled for the last three months of 2021 .
Although the production immediately became a hit, the work on the second series of Geralt’s adventures was dragged on for several reasons. Of course, the main problem was the pandemic situation in the world and the detection of infections in the team members. Besides, the foot injury suffered by the lead actor – Henry Cavill – did not help either. If the final plan for the premiere is maintained, the gap between the seasons will be two years.
