The Witcher remake will get an open world

So far, CD Projekt Red has not revealed much information about the new version of the first “The Witcher”. Now we know that the game will change significantly from the 2007 original.

During a recent presentation, it was revealed that the remake of The Witcher will receive a fully open world. In other words, the 15-year-old game will be much more like the third installment of the series that brought Reds worldwide fame. Certainly, making such a change will create a better experience for players.

The original Witcher , of course, allowed you to explore the world, but it was rather small (at least by current standards). The whole world was divided into several separate areas. Each of them was generated separately and it was impossible to smoothly switch between them.

The core team at CD Projekt Red is not working on the remake of The Witcher . The introduction of the game into a new era was entrusted to the Fool’s Theory studio. It is not yet known when it will be released. However, in December there will be an expansion to The Witcher 3 that will improve the game to the capabilities of current-gen hardware.
