Netflix has announced that the next season of The Witcher , the latest series based on the cult series by Andrzej Sapkowski, will be created. Admittedly, everyone expected that the production would not end with one series, but knowing that the sequel has already been ordered, we can guess that Netflix is happy with the series.
Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich commented on the news:
I am incredibly excited that even before the premiere of the first season, we can confirm that we will return to the Continent soon to tell the rest of the story of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri and show the fans the results of the great work that our team and cast have done.
Work on the second season will begin in London next year, and the initial premiere is planned for 2021. The first season will debut on December 20.
