The Witcher for children and families will be animated

During the first TUDUM event from Netflix, there was a preview of a new series for children and families set in the world of The Witcher . It is not known yet what the title will be.

The main producer of The Witcher , Lauren S. Hissrich, has confirmed that the series will be animated. Animated looks like anime style as Netflix is blurring the line between the two concepts. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf  is definitely an animated film. During the interview for EW, Hissrich confirmed some details about the series, especially that the title was inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s books:

The process is based on a lot of talking about what course we are to take in creating productions for children and families. Will it still be the Witcher? How are we going to create The Witcher without the whole gore climate, full of violence, brutality, which characterizes this world? For me, it is the basis of this world. When you remove these layers, you will go back to the basic story of morality. Sapkowski’s books tell about it briefly. They are moralizing stories in the land of fairy tales. They are based on folklore and mythology, such as Brothers Grimm’s Fairy Tales or Disney films. So we wondered how we were to smuggle the fundamental lessons, the same stories and transfer them to the world of The Witcher , but in a child-friendly way.

Netflix recently announced the above-mentioned production for children and families, and the third part of The Witcher . The first season is now available, a special behind-the-scenes documentary,   The Witcher: A Look Inside the Episodes,  and the animated movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The Witcher 2 will appear soon, on December 17th.
