Our actor Tomita Kōsei died on September 27, in the second year of Reiwa (2020) of a stroke
– we read in a statement on the agency’s website.
Kosei began his voice actor career in 1963 and has starred in over 50 anime series and movies.
One of his most famous creations was lending the voice to the title Doraemon in 1973. He was later replaced by Masako Nozawa.
In 2009, Kōsei was honored with the Achievement Award at the 3rd Seiyu Awards, a ceremony held annually in Japan in recognition of his voice talent.
