AMC’s adaptation of Interview with the Vampire is one of the most anticipated horror series this fall. It will premiere on October 2. Before that, the official trailer of the production was made available.
The modern edition of the revolutionary Gothic novel by Anne Rice entitled The vampire interview follows in the footsteps of Louis de Pointe du Laca (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass). Struggling with the limitations of a black life in twentieth century New Orleans, Louis cannot resist the cheeky Lestat de Lioncourt’s offer to join him as his vampire companion. Louis’ new powers, however, come at a terrible price, and the introduction of Lestat’s newest adept, Claudia’s vampire, begins their ten-year path of vengeance and repentance.

The story had its first adaptation in the 90s. It starred Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Christian Slater. Meanwhile, Rice continued to publish stories about the characters. It was then that Sam Reid noticed the possibility of drawing from all 13 books in the series to create a unique production.
What we’re doing in this version of Interview with the Vampire is drawing from a whole series of books. When the first adaptation came out, Rice was still writing, so the developers didn’t know all of her work. We have this option. We look at the characters from a broader perspective. This will convey a greater feeling than a 90-minute video.
Reid said at the TV Critics Association event this summer.
Will it really be so?
