The first season of Willow will consist of eight episodes, which will premiere weekly, starting on November 30. There will be two episodes to start with. The production will be available exclusively on the Disney+ platform.
The new series is the sequel to the cult fantasy adventure film Willow by George Lucas from 1988. The work told the story of a wizard’s journey, played by Warwick Davis, who set out to protect Empress Elora Danan and defeat the evil Queen Bavmorda. Now the action will continue and Davis will return in the title role. He will lead a group of brash outcasts on a mission to save Andowyne, and the enemy they face will prove to be more dangerous than they could have imagined.
The cast also includes Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk and Joanne Whalley. Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Jonathan Kasdan, Tommy Harper, Wendy Mericle, Roopesh Parekh, Ron Howard and Samie Kim Falvey serve as executive producers.
The series premieres November 30 on Disney+ .
