First there was the teaser, and now it’s time for a very interesting trailer that I think will encourage many people to see the production.
The pirates are coming and Netflix is ready to put viewers in deep water! The latest news about the One Piece series has come to us from the San Diego Comic Con, specifically the panel where Netflix presented a three-minute teaser. The creator of the manga, Enchiro Odda, from which the series was based, wrote a letter stating that after production ended, he explicitly asked for some elements to be reshot as he did not think they met One Piece standards . He wrote:
There are no compromises when creating this show! The fun is just beginning! I enjoy every move and reaction to the released information. Also the fact that the talks and the idea of creating One Piecein the live action version, took place seven years ago – madness! How long can this world be brought to life? There were a lot of moments where the actors had to do things a certain way, another version was not an option and they put a lot of effort into it. Creating buildings, costumes, presenting the world in certain ways took a lot of time. The process itself, in which many people were puzzled over the final result, was fun in itself. Even after filming ended, there were many scenes that the production agreed to re-shoot. I felt they weren’t good enough to show to the world. On the other hand, there was a lot of dialogue that didn’t feel like Luffy on paper, and when I saw the scene shot, I was like, “It works when Iñaki plays Luffy.” And he’s doing great. There were so many things that needed to be worked on to make them look quite natural. The producers and crew are professionals in live action productions, and honestly, also big fansOne Piece . The more familiar you are with One Piece , the better you will see that they have pure love for the title. I’m sure after the release, some people will point out that there are missing characters or missing scenes or differences between the manga and the series. However, I know that there will be comments written because of the love for the original, so I will also enjoy them. The story is planned for eight episodes.
One Piece is scheduled to premiere on August 31 on Netflix.
