The trailer for The Three Musketeers: d’Artagnan has been released

Fans of the iconic Three Musketeers are already rubbing their hands. In 2023, just eight months apart, two films adapting the cult novel by Alexandre Dumas will be released in cinemas: The Three Musketeers: d’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers: Milady . We can now watch the trailer of the first of them.

The film takes place from the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, from the slums of Paris to the siege of La Rochelle. In a kingdom divided by religious wars and threatened by an invasion by England, a handful of men and women will cross swords to save France. The main character of The Three Musketeers: d’Artagnan is, of course, d’Artagnan (played by François Civil), who dreams of becoming a musketeer. In realizing this desire, his new friends will try to help him: Atos (Vincent Cassel), Portos (Pio Marmaï) and Aramis (Romain Duris). It is by their side that he will have to fight not only for freedom, but also responsibility for the fate of France will rest on his shoulders.

The huge amount of money spent on The Three Musketeers: d’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers: Milady is reflected in the numbers. An army of people and… animals was involved in the production. As many as nine thousand extras and 650 horses were used. And all this in the most beautiful French scenery. The spaces of the most famous monuments were used during the shooting. Thanks to this, we will see shots in the movies, among others. from the Louvre, the Hôtel des Invalides, the castles of Fontainebleau and Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the citadel of Saint-Malo or the historic center of Troyes.

For several years I was looking for an ambitious project for myself. The moment I got the scripts “The Three Musketeers: d’Artagnan” and “The Three Musketeers: Milady”, I knew I had to make both films. In addition, I was able to gather a five-star cast in no time. It was thanks to the actors that we did something absolutely unique. This is one of the most important novels in the history of literature. I know that there have been several film adaptations so far, but the one I worked on with the team will be unique. If only because we had a big budget and thanks to that we were able to convey the spirit of the era in which the action of both films takes place (…) Not everyone also knows that Pathe Films first produced “The Three Musketeers” in 1922, i.e. a hundred years ago. Now we could refer to the history of this excellent label
