Netflix has released a trailer for Chicken Run: Nugget Era , the long-awaited sequel to Chicken Run . This will be one of the network’s biggest animated premieres in 2023. Chicken Run: Age of Nuggets, from the studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep , is one of those projects that has been rumored many times over the years. Now it has become a reality very quickly as Netflix has jumped on board. The global premiere on Netflix is scheduled for December.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will premiere at the London Film Festival and premieres on October 14 at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. The film, the long-awaited sequel to 2000’s Chicken Run , is also due to be shown in cinemas across the UK. There’s no word yet on whether it will get any U.S. theatrical release, which is increasingly becoming the talk of big Netflix releases.

After spending the entire first film trying to escape the Tweedy farm and start a new life for themselves, the sequel finds Ginger and Rocky, now with a child, facing a difficult decision. The question is – should they return to the mainland to help save all the chickens or should they fend for themselves in isolated safety? Zachary Levi replaces Gibson as Rocky, the film stars Thandiwe Newton as Ginger, Bella Ramsey as their daughter Molly, and returning actors Horrocks (Babs), Imelda Staunton (Bunty) and Lynn Ferguson (Mac), joined by new additions Josie Sedgwick -Davies (Frizzle), David Bradley (Fowler), Romesh Ranganathan (Nick), Daniel Mays (Fetcher) and Nick Mohammed (Dr. Fry).
What will happen in production?
After escaping from a chicken farm, Ginger and Rocky settle on a quiet island where their daughter Molly is hatching. Unfortunately, out of spite, a new danger appears in the old hen house! Now Ginger and her team will have to risk their hard-won freedom and… break into the farm.
From the multi-Oscar and BAFTA-winning Aardman ( The Animal Confessions, Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep ) and the Oscar- and BAFTA-nominated director Sam Fell ( Paranorman and Down the Sewer ), comes Chicken Run: The Age of the Nuggets.
