The superfast hedgehog returns to Earth! “Sonic 2. Fast as a former lightning” is now available on DVD

The favorite blue hedgehog is back in his next adventure. Directed by Oscar® nominee Jeff ^Fowler , the highest-grossing video game film ever made its DVD debut on October 26.

 

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic wants to prove at all costs that he can be a real hero. The opportunity soon presents itself as Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with his new sidekick Knuckles. Their nefarious plan is to find an emerald that has the power to destroy civilization. Sonic joins forces with his new friend Tails and together they embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

After the great success of the previous film with Sonic, the superfast hedgehog returns in another installment. This time we’ll see more action, more characters and more great humor. As director Jeff Fowler admits:

The first movie was basically just to introduce the characters of Sonic and Robotnik. Now is the time to open up the rich world of Sonic more and introduce new heroes – Knuckles and Tails.

Jim Carrey, again as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, shows in his original acting all that we know him best: astonishing energy and eccentric facial expressions. An actor known from films such as Ace Ventura: Dog Detective or Maska , is now a comedy film legend, and yet he can still surprise with the freshness of his creations. It is no different this time. His character is the best antagonist Sonic could have got, and he works out great in a duet with Agent Stone.

Jim Carrey and Lee Majdoub are so awesome together and they do so many funny things that I wish I could make a movie just about them. It’s just crazy fun to watch these two, Fowler admits.

Sonic 2. Fast as lightning , however, is not an intimate production focused on relations between the characters. Without forgetting the pedigree of the popular video game franchise, this next Blue Hedgehog movie redefines our idea of ​​what a movie adaptation of a video game might look like. Using the elements typical of games in an ideal way and incorporating them into the language of film, the creators managed to build probably the most perfect bridge so far between these two completely different experiences, which so far have been games and movies.

The movie Sonic 2. Fast as Lightning debuted in theaters on April 22. From October 26, it is available on DVD.
