Writer and director James Gunn presents The Suicide Squad. The second installment in DC’s most degenerate thugs story will be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray ™, Blu-ray ™ and DVD on November 3.
Welcome to Hell, also known as Belle Reve. It is the prison with the highest death rate in the United States of America. The worst supervillains are held here, and they will go to great lengths to regain their freedom. Not even joining the super-secret and super-frost X Shock Unit. Today’s quest? Collect branch of criminals, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher second, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and favorite świruskę ,Harley Quinn. Then arm them to the teeth and dump (literally) on the secluded island of Corto Maltese, swarming with enemies. The squad, carrying out their search mission, breaks through the jungle where militants and guerrillas lurk behind every tree. The only way to tame the renegades is their companion, Colonel Rick Flag … and governmental ear implants, revealing their every move to Amanda Waller. And as usual – one careless move and they are dead (at the hand of opponents, companion or Waller herself). If someone wants to play the gambler, it is common sense not to bet on them. Never.
I love the Suicide Squad since I was a kid , says James Gunn. This is one of my favorite super villain comic book groups. I have always been interested in heroes who have a chance to become better. Some will take advantage of it, others will not; they are characters with all shades of morality and I can show it on screen in a really wonderful, exciting way: with aliens, monsters and a walking shark!
Producer Peter Safran knew Gunn would be the perfect choice for director.
When I suggested it, James said to me: I know very well what I want to do with this film, so if the studio is interested in exactly that vision, let’s do it!
Working on The Suicide Squad was extremely exciting. Everyone believed in me, which made me take all risks, kill any characters, tell stories in weird ways – whatever I wanted … it was total freedom, adds Gunn.
Margot Robbie reprises the role of Harley Quinn, the cult anti-heroine from the DC world.
I love playing Harley, I don’t know when I’m gonna get bored of it! It is a catalyst for chaos. James Gunn’s humor is incredibly strange and specific, which suits my character perfectly , says Robbie.
Idris Elba, who plays the role of Bloodsport, has also joined the cast of The Suicide Squad . He’s a world-class brutal sniper – his hands and all he wields in them are lethal weapons. This tempered criminal has only one weakness … which, of course, Amanda Waller uses to convince him to join the team.
Bloodsport is a character that lives deep in the dungeons of the DC world. He comes from a very difficult military environment, he is a grumpy guy and it’s better not to be around him. He has been in prison for a long time and hates the system – says Elba about his character.
The combination of James Gunn’s fantasy and humor with a sensational cast resulted in a spectacular effect and excellent reviews all over the world.
Suicide Squad: The Suicide Squad from November 3 will also be available in the collector’s edition of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray ™ Steelbook.
