The actress was born on January 14, 1967 in London. Interestingly, she is often confused with another British actress, Emma Watson. When asked about such situations, she laughs and says that she does not correct her mistake, because the fact that someone confuses her with a younger friend is quite nice. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the University of Bristol, where she studied English Literature. Then she applied to the acting school, but her candidacy was rejected. At the time, she hadn’t let it stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She tried two more times and finally became an official student of the British Shakespeare School of Acting in the third. She also joined the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Emily Watson was also seen in The Book Thief . She then performed as Rosa Hubermann, a role earning her nominations for Saturn and Statelity Awards, among others. She also appeared in the cult film Theory of Everything as Beryl Wilde and in the miniseries Little Women as Marmee March. In 2019, she appeared in the HBO hit series Chernobyl . She played Uliana Chomiuk in it. This brought her a nomination of up to 5 awards, including a Golden Globe. She also appeared in the movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle . However, she lent her voice in the animationCorpse Bride as Victoria Everglot.
