The star of “Joker 2” announces the upcoming sequel with Lady Gaga

Warner Bros. and DC Comics have been through a lot lately. From their merger with Discovery to that of Ezra Miller, it’s safe to say that they go through a wringer. The newly appointed CEO David Zaslav has canceled tons of stuff like Batgirl and The Wonder Twins , but there are still plenty of projects out there like the upcoming Joker sequel , Joker : Films A Deux . Lady Gaga has been confirmed to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn. One of the stars of the Joker: Folie A Deux , Brendan Gleeson recently spoke to Extra and discussed the reasons for joining the film, as well as praising the costumes.

 

The reason I took part in the film was Joaquin’s performance, which is absolutely indelible… It was one of the greatest cinema achievements I have ever seen. I think Lady Gaga is also amazing.

The film is directed by Todd Phillips and will star Joaquin Phoenix with Lady Gaga joining the cast as Harley Quinn. At one point, the director admitted that he had introduced the DC bosses to the entire “dark” production, although its implementation never came to fruition – yet.

When I introduced the Joker to them , it wasn’t about the movie, it was that we should create the entire brand. They quickly ruled it out, and I understand it. Who am I to get in and start big new productions in the movie studio? But they said, “let’s do this one.”

The Joker is one of DC’s most successful feature-length films. The work of director Todd Phillips won two Oscars. The film was so successful that it surpassed the billion dollar mark at the global box office. It didn’t take long for Warner to decide on a sequel. Phillips is directing the sequel as well as writing the script. The release date of Joker: Folie à Deux is currently set for 2024.
