The new footage shows plenty of action and even more Spider-Man variants. The presented fragments of scenes indicate the existence of some interdimensional world where all spider heroes meet. We also get our first look at the Spider-Woman version of Jessica Drew that will appear in the movie. Plus, we also see that Miles’ relationship with the characters from parallel universes isn’t going to be the best all the time.
As we mentioned earlier, the trailer is full of different Spider-men. Fans have obviously already started analyzing the footage frame by frame and managed to identify some of the characters. Among them are e.g. Spider-Man (Peter Parker) from the PlayStation game, Spider-Woman (Mary Jane Watson), Bombastic Bag-Man or Spider-Man in a black symbiote costume.
Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider) and Jake Johnson (Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man) will return in the film. They will be joined by Oscar Isaac (Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099), Issa Rae (Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman) and Daniel Kaluuya (Hobart Brown/Spider-Punk). The picture is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. The screenplay is by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and David Callaham.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will hit theaters on June 2, 2023. Work is already underway on the third installment, titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse .
