Variety was the first to inform about it. Sony Pictures’ TV division is getting ready to shoot the Cindy Moon drama series better known as Silk. Despite the early stage of work on the painting, two well-known names are already associated with it. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will serve as executive producers. Amy Pascal will also help them oversee the project.
Currently, there are talks with Lauren Moon that she will take the position of lead writer. She already has several series in her output, but this would be her first contact with a science fiction production. An additional advantage for Moon is the fact that, like Silk, she also has Korean roots. This can help her better understand the character and her multiculturalism.
Cindy Moon is a fairly new character in the Marvel comics. It had its debut in 2014 and quickly gained the sympathy of the fans. Its story is similar to the one we know from the adventures of Spider-Man. Cindy is Peter Parker’s high school friend who, like him, received spider powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider.
This is not the first time Silk has hit the screens. In 2018, rumors appeared about the film adaptation of her adventures. Some time later, the character was associated with the spinoff of the Spider-Man Universe animation . The production would bring together a group of spider heroines. Silk, Spider-Gwen (who made her debut in the first film) and Spider-Woman were mentioned among them. Unfortunately, only rumors ended and the project was lost.
For now, it is not known who will be responsible for broadcasting the series. The main candidate is Amazon, which also shows interest in other productions from Sony based on the Marvel license.
