Scriptwriter of Portal and Portal 2 would like to create the third part of the game. The title is iconic mainly due to the phenomenal script by Erik Wolpaw (also known for writing the script for Artifact and Half-Life: Alyx ).
It turns out that Erik Wolpaw wants to return to Portal games before becoming, as he claims, too old for it. He recently appeared on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, where he expressed his desire and excitement about the third part of the Portal :
We’ve gotta start Portal 3, that’s my message to you. Anything you can do, let’s do it, let’s just make it happen. Because yeah, I am also not getting any younger like we are reaching the point where it’s crazy to think, literally gonna be too old to work on Portal 3 so we should just do it,
It’s been over ten years since the premiere of Portal 2 , so it’s normal that Erik Wolpaw is afraid that we will not see the next part. However, it is not a foregone conclusion, because it has happened more than once that producers returned to games from the past after such long breaks. Time sometimes works to the advantage of production, because over the years, creative and unprecedented ideas have certainly swarmed in the minds of the creators.
Wolpaw then added that fans should let Gabe Newell and Valve know about this idea , although he admitted a moment later that he did not know if such requests would give anything.
