Recently, information has emerged that the remake has sold 1.4 million copies worldwide. These numbers may seem disappointing due to the fact that previous PlayStation Studios games generated far more sales. In reality, however, Sony cannot complain, and the result of Demon’s Souls can be considered impressive.
There are several factors to consider when analyzing the sales of this game. First of all, the game is aimed at a specific audience who likes the climates of “souls” and jRPG. This narrows down the number of potential buyers quite significantly, and thus makes this result not comparable with other, much more popular games. The second issue is the release of the game only for the PS5 console, so owners of older Sony equipment had to do without taste in this case. Considering the number of PS5 sold, it can be concluded that the result of Demon’s Souls is really good and it is optimistic.
