Looks like Squid Game is finally gearing up for a comeback! The Netflix series was a viral hit of 2020 and remains one of the most streamed shows on the streaming service to date. Of course, this means that the second season has been ordered for production as soon as possible – however, the production of the second part will take a little longer.
The information comes straight from the lead actor – Jung Jae – Lee, who gave an interview to Ilgan Sports from London. It was there that the actor was asked how work on the second season of Squid Game was progressing , and Lee admitted that filming would take some time.
Filming on Squid Game 2 will begin this summer, and shooting is likely to take around 10 months. We also worked on season 1 for about 10 months, but that was with delays due to COVID-19. Seeing that Season 2 will be on an even larger scale, it’s likely to take us longer to do so
He went on to point out that his character Gi-Hun has a lot to accomplish in the second season. The game ended with a promising cliffhanger drama, with Lee’s character desperate for revenge. As such, the star expects to finally share screen time with co-star Lee Byung Hun, who plays Front Man on Squid Game .
As we all saw at the end of season 1 – the main plot of season 2 will be revenge, and the key character who controlled the games in season 1 was Lee Byung Hun, so it looks like the two of us will be the main characters of the next story. I will be working with Lee Byung Hun for the first time. Well, we used to work on a drama called White Nights 3.98 , but we didn’t have any scenes together.
