The streaming service Hulu has commissioned twenty new episodes of the animated series Futurama . The production will be supervised by David X. Cohen and Matt Groening, who invented and created a futuristic comedy from the very beginning. Work on the continuation is to start in March this year, and the premiere should take place in 2023.
In addition to the original creators, most of the cast will return as well. In the English version, we will again be able to hear the voices of Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herma. Unfortunately, the role of the Bender robot – John DiMaggio – is not yet associated with the project, although the producers hope that they will be able to download the actor.
In the official announcement, Cohen and Groening expressed their excitement to return to Futurama . Hulu CEO Craig Erwich also spoke in a similar vein. According to him, people from the streaming service could not wait to start working on new episodes of this cult series.
