Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has understandably had a difficult development cycle. The developers at GSC Game World had to put development on the game on hold due to the war in Ukraine , leading to several delays. These matters were much more pressing than working on a video game, so it was no surprise to hear that Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl would be pushed back once or twice. Now it looks like the team will be ready to release their golden child soon as it has been announced that Stalker 2 will officially launch early next year.
Technically, this is another delay. Earlier this year, GSC Game World confirmed that Stalker 2 was set to release in 2023 , with a later leak suggesting the game would be released on December 1. However, this announcement officially pushes the game out of 2023. It’s a very short delay, but it nevertheless pushes the highly anticipated release date once again. Again, that’s understandable considering all the developer has gone through to get to this point, but it’s disappointing news for die-hard fans of the series who were hoping to play Stalker 2 this year .
What’s new?
However, on the occasion of a large event for players from around the world, which was Gamescom, the developers of the game shared with us a new trailer of the game, where you can see landscapes rich in heavy eastern climate. Lovers of exploration will certainly find many interesting places to visit. The video mainly focuses on the presentation of the various types of weapons available in the game – from pistols to shotguns and rifles. Not only weapons, but also anomalies will be useful in combat, allowing you to effectively defeat your opponents. We also see the mechanics of healing our hero, and all this to the accompaniment of atmospheric music.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released in the first quarter of 2024 on Xbox Series X/S and PC. GSC Game World will make the game available on the first day as part of the Game Pass service, which will make it easier to sell it if you already use it. The band has also launched pre-orders for both physical and digital versions. If you want, GSC even offers several different Collector’s Editions where you can buy all sorts of physical goodies, including a backpack and a container lamp.
