Anyone waiting for a new era of Middle-earth from Amazon Prime can celebrate; the premiere of the series will take place a day earlier than expected. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been announced to debut on September 1 instead of September 2. Two episodes will be available on the platform on Thursday at 9 p.m., and more will appear regularly at midnight on Fridays, until the season finale, on October 14.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set thousands of years before The Hobbit and the original Lord of the Rings , during the Second Age of Middle-earth. It begins in a time of relative peace after defeating Morgoth, Lord Sauron. The series tells about the lives and adventures of the heroes.

The cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani.

Bayona, one of the executive producers previously revealed the principle behind the producers:

When you read Tolkien’s books, you can easily see how much he appreciates beauty, so the show will be full of it , too, Bayona told SFX magazine. Tolkien is naturally optimistic, warm and emotional. He is a man who went through the darkest times in human history [in World War I] and yet did not write a desperate, tragic story. [Tolkien] wrote a story about the hope and success of a little man. We have always felt that this is the number one rule, which is true optimism and love, even in the most terrible moments.

Will the viewers be equally optimistic about the productions?
