Work on almost all film productions this year met with a number of difficulties and a huge challenge, which is the shooting during an epidemiological threat and quarantine. Netflix’s The Witcher recordings were suspended for the first time in March due to global restrictions. Kristofer Hivju (Nivellen) then tested positive for COVID-19.
The actor’s health improved shortly after, and production resumed in August. The photos were shot in various locations in England, such as Fountains Abbey and Frensham Little Pond .
Currently, however, there is information about the resignation of work due to four positive tests for the presence of COVID-19 among members of the film crew . Referring to the news, the show’s showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich wrote:
The world has turned upside down – so many thanks for all the love and support for this little corner of ours. We Witchers are doing well. The health and safety of our team and their families is paramount and we will do everything we can to protect them. We will be back soon.
We know that none of the infected are members of a generally recognized cast (such as Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Eamon Farren), so their names have not been made public. We hope that the break in the shooting will not last long and of course we wish the whole team health.
