The producer of “Loki” announces the possibility of a third season!

The announcement of the third season of the series “Loki” raises great emotions and questions about what new secrets and revolutions in the multiverse await our beloved antihero.

Loki Season 2 is one of the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe projects since Avengers: Endgame – largely due to its obvious importance in setting up the events of Avengers: Secret Wars . However, the mythos and the character of Loki have become very popular in the MCU fandom, and further storylines could easily extend beyond the Multiverse saga and the war against the Council of Kang.

During Loki’s second season press day , ComicBook.com spoke with series co-executive producer Kevin Wright about the possibility of Loki continuing in season 3 (and beyond). It turns out this is a topic already discussed at Marvel Studios:

We’re certainly looking at how we can continue to tell Loki’s stories. I would say that seasons one and two were as thought out as two chapters of the same book. We want to finish this book, but I think there are many more chapters on the shelf.

A hypothesis about the potential path of the king of delusion

Given its central nature and premise, Loki could be a show that could easily continue into additional story seasons within an established framework (events within the Time Deflection Authority). Regardless of the outcome of Secret Wars, there will be some sort of major reset of the MCU timeline; this new timeline may turn out to be even more “holy” than the previous one if it is a collection of remnants from other destroyed timelines (e.g.: Fox’s X-Men movie universe) mixed into the new MCU. We already know that characters like Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will keep TVA on edge as the multi-pronged incursions begin to escalate; The role of the timekeeping organization may ultimately become more important than ever before Phase 7 begins and the X-Men make their way into the MCU.

On the other hand, Loki could just as easily abandon the TVA workplace drama and act more like an anthology series. Loki begins an all-new journey through time/space/alternate realities following the events of Avengers: Secret War . That would be quite intriguing and exciting – just as the premise of Loki being in a vastly changed, multi-sided timeline is the main plot of Season 2.

In fact, at this point, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is making the most of his role in the MCU, long after his warranty has expired. Whatever he does next will be just another step in his victory lap – if he wants to continue it at all.

The second season of Loki will premiere on Thursday evenings on Disney+
