The premiere of “Witches” on DVD and Blu-ray on May 19!

Witches is a wonderful adaptation of Roald Dahl’s timeless tale, created by world-class filmmakers and fantastic actors. The film will debut in Poland on DVD and Blu-ray on May 19.

 

Witches is one of Roald Dahl’s most popular books, currently translated into over 41 different languages ​​around the world. Released over 30 years ago, it tells about the timeless values ​​such as kindness, courage and hope, which remain relevant for the next generations of young viewers and readers.

Robert Zemeckis’ film, which is a screening of the famous story of Dahl, is both a funny and touching story set in the 1960s. After the death of his parents, a small black boy is taken care of by a loving grandmother, who experienced a terrifying encounter with witches in her youth. When the woman realizes that the witches have returned, she runs south with the boy. Unfortunately, it turns out that the heroes go straight to the witches’ nest. They are led by the Supreme Witch who intends to turn all children into mice.

The film features Oscar winners Anne Hathaway ( Les Miséra , Ocean’s 8 ) and Octavia Spencer ( The Shape of Water ), Oscar-nominated Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games, Terminal ), as well as Kristin Chenoweth ( Glee and BoJack Horseman series ) and an award-winning, legendary comedian Chris Rock.

The screenplay, based on Roald Dahl’s book, was written by Robert Zemeckis and Kenya Barris, and Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro ( The Shape of Water ).

Zemeckis was supported by longtime collaborators in making the film, including Oscar-nominated cinematographer Don Burgess ( Forrest Gump ), production designer Gary Freeman, editors Jeremiah O’Driscoll and Ryan Chan, Oscar-nominated costume designer Joanna Johnston ( Lincoln ) and nominated for Oscar-winning composer Alan Silvestri ( The Polar Express ).

The film was nominated for the Saturn, Kid’s Choice and Visual Effects Society awards, among others.
