CD Projekt confirmed that the next major installment of the Witcher series may appear in 2025 at the earliest. This year, the longtime publisher of The Witcher has confirmed that he is working on the next installment of the series and that the next game will be part of the new trilogy. And while some fans were hoping The Witcher 4 (Unofficial Title) would be coming sooner rather than later, it looks like they’ll have to be patient instead.
In a recent interview with investors, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński told a bit about The Witcher 4 , codenamed Polaris , and said that the game is still at a very early stage of development. Kiciński also mentioned that a large part of the work on The Witcher 4 is related to the new one

the mechanism of the game – Unreal Engine 5, on which the game is created. After completing the work on this system, work on the next parts should progress a little faster.
In response to this, one of the investors asked what it meant for the potential premiere of The Witcher 4 . Specifically, it was asked whether, given the previous information on The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6 , the game will be ready in three or more years. Kiciński confirmed this to be true, which means the earliest date for The Witcher 4 to appear is 2025.
While 2025 is the earliest year that the next installment of The Witcher series could be released , it seems 2026 or later is a better estimate. Kiciński and the rest of CD Projekt still emphasize that The Witcher 4 is still very distant. Considering that delays are quite common when it comes to game production, it wouldn’t be a shock if the title was delayed even further.
