The Silver Raven is a collection of seven stories set in the original world of Oculum Mundi. The generic fantasy world, inspired by late medieval Europe, gives you the opportunity to learn the stories of several characters pursuing their own goals and fulfilling unsophisticated ambitions.
The stories presented in the collection can be read separately, but together they form a coherent, though complicated whole. Each of the stories is written from the perspective of the main character (sometimes there are more perspectives). We have the opportunity to enter the skin of a character whose progressiveness is ahead of the old customs. Understand why man’s power is war of manners. Confront youthful ideals with the soulless machine of the state. Answer the question, “Is it possible to be neutral?” The book Silver Raven is guided by the motto:
Nothing happens by accident. And if it does, it is only because it has been meticulously planned.
In addition, it is the first part of the End Times Prophecy series, the number of which has been planned for five collections. Stories of great people affect little people. These are stories about the enormous ambitions of characters hidden in the shadows. These are behind-the-scenes games, the effects of which we get to know after a long time. It is a vague combination of events where what is beautiful and idealistic must give way to what is calculated and soulless. Welcome to the world of Oculum Mundi, where nothing happens by accident. And if it happens, it is only because it has been meticulously planned.
The pre-sale for the third edition has already started. There’s a new cover, two additional stories, and a small digital gift for those looking to pre-order.
Oculum Mundi is a classic fantasy world. There is magic, although hidden, illegal and universally condemned. There is also a sword, but taverns, palaces and churches can be the battlefields. There are monsters, but the texts focus on this most dangerous predator. There are emotions and feelings, but these often have to give way to cold calculations. Unlike the previous editions, the third edition has undergone a thorough redaction.
Piotr Wałkówski did a titanic job, and two additional stories were added to the whole, which appeared somewhere on the way of writing, and show the motivations of the main architect of the fictional turmoil. Moreover, they capture the spirit of all the stories and introduce the reader to this unpleasant world.
The new edition will be presented on May 7 at the Horror and Fantasy Festival in Łódź.
