This Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Poznań Festival of Comic Art will begin. It will last for four days, during which visitors will have meetings with authors, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, conferences and free comic books! And of course that’s still not all!
There will be a lot of fun for all comic book fans this weekend. In Poznań, the PFSK will take place again. However, there are attractions waiting for fans now. The exhibition has been open for a few days nowrelated to the comic titled “Bird told me that” by Martyna Bolanowska, and you can watch it at the University Library. In the same place, from April 20, you will also be able to see the works of Przemysław “Trust” Truściński. The “Exhibition of comic boards and illustrations from webkomiksy.pl” will certainly arouse interest among the audience. It will also be worth visiting the “Centrala” gallery, where an exhibition of works by Monika Laprus-Wierzejska will be open from April 21. On the opening day at At 6:00 p.m. there will also be a meeting with the artist. On the same day, but at At 20:00 in Barak Kultury, an exhibition of comic boards from the anthology “Own voice” will be opened.
If you ever want to create your own comics, it will certainly be worth going to the workshop. On Saturday, Bartłomiej Sztobryn will explain to the gathered how to prepare your own cannon and start cooperation with other authors or publishers. On Sundays, Kamil Dulkiewicz and Zvyrke will try to teach those interested in the art of drawing comic frames. On the same day, Agata Sutkowska will also conduct workshops on creating a manga plot.
There will also be numerous lectures, during which you will hear about superheroes, manga, as well as post-apocalyptic and horror movies. You will be able to hear not only about Marvel or DC, but also Image or Valiant. There will also be talks about modern superheroes and publishing manga in Poland. However, we especially invite you to a lecture on the Dark Justice League and the story of Dracula in the comic book, which will be told by the editors of the Last Tawerna – Bartosz Stuła and Piotr Markiewicz. It will also be worth taking part in the competition of all-comic knowledge conducted by our colleagues from Ryjówka .

Of course, that’s still not all. During the convention, they will be able to meet famous artists and even get their autographs. Among the invited guests were Jakub Dębski, Łukasz Godlewski, Daniel Chmielewski, Marcin Podolec, Keren Katz and the aforementioned Zvyrke.
Another treat for fans will certainly be that free comics will be available during the festival. Some of them come from the American Free Comic Book, and the titles include Spider Man Venom , Stranger Things , Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hollow . There will also be anthologies published on the occasion of the Poznań Comics Festivals, i.e. the so-called zines. They will be able to win Darmozin or Babski zine . You will complete your collection at numerous stands. Among the exhibitors there will be such publishing houses as Mandioca, Timof, Non Stop Comics or Kotori, as well as authors, including Rafał Szłapa, Weronika Dobrowolska, Marta Falkowska and Kasia Nie. And these are, of course, only a few of the large group of comic book artists.
