The CW television network has started producing several of its upcoming pilot episodes for the 2021-2022 season, including Naomi, The Lost Boys, and Maverick. The chain also ordered pilots for All American spin-off All American Homecoming , spin-off Black Lightning – Painkiller and spin-off Nancy Drew – Tom Swift . Recently, there have been a few posts on the web that indicate that The Powerpuff Girls – one of The CW’s most famous projects – is no longer a potential production, and work on the series is moving forward. Reimagination of the iconic Cartoon Network series The Powerpuff Girls will be about adult nukes disappointed in their lives, who regret losing their childhood to fight evil.
TMZ shared a photo from the set showing the characters from The Powerpuff Girls Bójka (Chloe Bennet), Bajka (Dove Cameron), and Brawórka (Yana Perrault) in quite precise, stylish costumes. The costumes are simple and do not stand out, but they reflect the original wardrobe of the girls. Fans of the animated series will definitely feel fond of these cute dresses. We can’t be sure if The CW is preparing something bigger than costumes, given their love of superhero costumes.
In the next published photo, we see a house that is said to belong to the Powerpuff Girls and Professor Atomus (Donald Faison). It is not a faithful copy of the animated counterpart, but the series team did a great job. Apart from the lack of round windows, the building looks very similar to the original.
Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody are responsible for the script of the first episode of the nukes. The production is directed by Maggie Kiley. All three will be executive producers alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. The original Powerpuff Girls had one reboot of the animated series in 2016 when they premiered in 1998. CW station will create the first production of the series, where characters will be played by real actors.
