The power of friendship – review of the movie “Ooops! The Adventure Continues”

The Ark is a shelter and safety, as one sea wolf used to say, but… is it really? In the latest German-Luxembourg-Irish production you will see how nice animals cope at sea and… on land.

 

Continuation of the 2015 animation

Co-production of Ups! The Ark sailed away was distributed all over the world. The creators took care of the graphics, music and the appropriate ending, but probably not everything went according to their wishes. The proposal for the youngest viewers is a bit like Madagascar , the Ice Age and Rio , but it is hard to remember for longer. The reviewed sequel to Ooops! The Adventure Continues follows the same convention which – surprisingly – seems insufficiently exploited. The hybrids known in the first part of the mascots return to the big screen, surrounded by pop culture quotes and multi-dimensional references. In the mind of the creators: what I have, I will give.

We take matters into our paws and fins

Fini and Ida, the heroes met in the first installment of Oops! , they drift with their parents and other animals in the open sea. The search for dry land is ongoing, but in the meantime another problem arises – stocks are running out, which could adversely affect the relationship between herbivores and carnivores. Unfortunate coincidences lead to a tragedy: Fini and Ida are thrown overboard and so are the leftovers. Separated by the waves, they go to completely different places and that’s when the real adventure begins! Ida is trapped on a volcanic island while Fini discovers that his species has survived and is now living in a fairy-tale colony. It is impossible to predict the success of this mission.

About the sequel

Animationit is very colorful, that must be admitted. The heroes can be known and even liked, which contributes to the fact that we follow their adventures with a smile. The story itself may be interesting, but from the middle of the film, for reasons not fully known, it loses its freshness and the viewer no longer lingers in delight, but rather waits for a predictable end. Yes, this is the biggest drawback of this story – we actually know its end during the screening. We know that nothing will separate our heroes! Nevertheless, I must admit that the kids, my companions, watched the film with commitment and were reluctant to leave the cinema room after the screening. Despite the rushing action, not necessarily clear motivations of the characters, situational absurdities and maybe a slightly naive plot, the story apparently may appeal to small viewers, while their parents a little less.World cinemas , incl. Paweł Szymański, Izabela Kuna, Kasia Wincza, Jacek Kopczyński, Tomasz Lach, Laura Bączkiewicz and Miriam Aleksandrowicz. Under the leadership of Maciej Kosmala and Grzegorz Drojewski, the actors did a great job and I rate the dubbing 10/10!
