The Polish premiere of “The Sanatorium” by Sarah Pearse is approaching

The sanatorium is an atmospheric story of a policewoman who, while staying in a mountain hotel, has to deal with a murderer … and with her own past.

The Sanatorium is Sarah Pearse’s debut novel. The idea for it came from a Swiss newspaper and an article about the history of local tuberculosis hospitals. She has always been fascinated by what is dark and ghastly – she loved abandoned places, far from civilization. The author currently lives in coastal Devon with her husband and daughters.

The description of The Sanatorium of the publishing house Prószyński i S-ka reads:

Elin Warner, who works in the English police force, decides to open a new chapter in life in an exclusive hotel on a mountain slope. It soon turns out, however, that the ghosts inhabiting the place do not allow themselves to be forgotten – the snow-covered forests hide many dark secrets.
One day, one of the hotel employees makes a gruesome discovery – a murderer is prowling in the sanatorium. Meanwhile, a snowstorm and an avalanche cut the building off from the world. Elin decides to tackle a monstrous mystery of a man who is clearly trying very hard to prove something to the world. The one-on-one game begins … A
suspenseful story reminiscent of the classics of the genre.

The Sanatorium will be available from February 3 this year. The author of the novel can be found on Twitter as @SarahVPearse and on Instagram ( @sarahpearseauthor ).
