Memento mori . What is the game about?
We create three piles of cards with the names of historical figures (we have here Polish and foreign kings, painters, singers, actors; a total of 200 famous men and women). By choosing one of the index cards exposed on the piles, the player must decide in which of the columns created from three categories – date of birth, life expectancy and date of death – he will place the “grave plaque”. The values must form a sequence, so the more names in a row, the higher the difficulty level. A mistake means a penalty point, and the more we collect, the greater the chance of losing. The game ends when twelve blanks are placed in each column and lasts about 20-25 minutes.
Guillotine or too rough sex? Causes of death
We can get rid of our “karniak” when we guess the cause of death of a specific person (only some character cards give us such a possibility). For example, if you correctly declare that Marilyn Monroe died of an overdose of sleeping pills and correctly place her card in one of the rows, you lose a penalty point. And this is where it starts to get really interesting!
Some causes of death of famous people are absurd, others scary or just sad; among them there are such as the guillotine, or sex that has gone a little in the wrong direction. I don’t want to spoil your fun and reveal too many details in this matter, but
I assure you that trying to guess why a certain personage is no longer with us in this vale is very satisfying. We can show off our knowledge or imagination.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this title. I also recommend playing the music from The Addams Family or the Netflix hit series Wednesday in the background , and feel the atmosphere of Rebel’s proposal as best as possible. Also, light candles. there is power!
