The Batmobile is perhaps the most popular means of transport in the world of superheroes. Models were produced for the needs of the film set, as well as all kinds of shows. Now one of the stunt copies has been put up for sale for a dizzying amount.
When it comes to superhero vehicles, none is as iconic as the Batmobile. In turn, among the many versions of him, the most recognizable is the one from Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns movies . Today, one Batmobile, made especially for the Six Flags Batman Stunt Show , is up for sale at a price that only the likes of Bruce Wayne himself can match.
As reported by NBC New York , the Six Flags Batman Stunt Show Batmobile is currently for sale at the Classic Auto Mall in Pennsylvania. The price is $1.5 million. This particular model was not used on the film set, but it was built by the same company that built the copies visible on the screen. The Batmobile on display for this is one of only five vehicles that have been made. Three of them were created for stunt shows, and only two for film purposes.
The description of the vehicle clearly states that it is not street legal and has a specially molded fiberglass body. Also installed are the fenders of the prototype Daytona racer, the jet engine turbine (centre element of the distinctive hood), bat-style ‘fins’ and an enclosed cockpit design that can accommodate up to 3 passengers. The stunt car is powered by an electric motor, allowing for a maximum speed of less than 50 km/h. Thus, the quote is important:
