Piggy can be a superhero too
The high- flying pig takes the reader to a universe where animals live with people and, like them, go to school, shop in normal stores and live in ordinary households. The main character of several adventures described in the comic is Grześ the pig. However, he is not an ordinary pig, as it might seem at first. When no one is watching, he puts on the Batpig costume and rushes to the rescue of endangered humanity.
The comic’s amusing plot certainly deserves a mention. Especially remembered is a very original story about an alien attack. On the surface, each story may seem simple, but they are all full of unusual themes and ideas that you can look elsewhere.
What’s more, in High-flying Pig , you can see how important and valuable friendship can be. The heroic Grzes is accompanied by two best friends. Of course, they keep the secret of the title character because they know well about his hidden identity.
Will Świnka also go to an adult reader?
The adventures of Grześ are not the most intricate ones, and the humor contained in the story is rather simple jokes and a lot of references to pop culture. Indeed, the author’s sense of humor may not amuse the adult reader to tears, but it will probably cause a gentle smile (some jokes, in their own way, are really cute).
The simplicity of the plot and humor, however, makes the comic book aimed at a younger audience. I am convinced that children will definitely be interested in this kind of adventure and sense of humor. It will certainly affect their imaginations as well.
The drawing style also deserves praise – not too complicated, but aesthetic and distinctive enough not to resemble any other drawing work.
Batpig deserves a larger audience
The High-flying Pig is a comic book definitely worth recommending, especially for younger readers. In an easy, accessible and fun way, it communicates to the recipient moral values that everyone should stick to. Even though I do not fall into the age category that the author is targeting, I would still like to read more. Each chapter about Grzes and his friends made me feel happy.
