Mediawan Rights presented the first teaser of the reboot of the Zorro series , directed by Javier Quintas. The premiere will take place on October 15, during the opening evening of Mipcom.
Produced by the Spanish company Secuoya Studios, the series marks the great television return of the masked hero after almost two decades. The Spanish-language series will premiere on October 15. Prime Video has already purchased Zorro for markets in the US, Latin America, Spain, Andorra and Portugal.
Zorro takes place in Los Angeles in 1834 . Miguel Bernardeau stars as Diego de la Vega/Zorro. At his side we will see Renata Notni, a rising Mexican star, playing Lolita Marquez. The cast is completed by Dalia Xiuhcoatl, Paco Tous, Emiliano Zurita and Joel Bosqued. Zorro is executive produced by John Gertz, founder of Zorro Productions Inc. and producer of The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro . The ten-episode series was written by Carlos Portela and directed by Javier Quintas, Jose Luis Alegría and Jorge Saavedra. Valérie Vleeschhouwer, managing director of Mediawan Rights, described the production as “a bold adaptation that will provide a wide audience with a good mix of action, adventure and uplifting moments.”
