Millennium Media released the first promotional poster for the new adaptation of Red Sonia , the production of which started this summer. We will see Matilda Lutz in the role of the main character in the picture.
Red Sonja is a comic book created by Dynamite Entertainment. The main character was created thanks to the writer Robert E. Howard.
Brigitte Nielsen played the title role in the 1985 adaptation. Matilda Lutz became the new Red Sonia – this is how she looks on the first poster published by Millennium Media:

The director, MJ Bassett, says about the production:
I wanted to make a movie about Red Sonia since I was a teenager – I felt her presence in my life and she was always a character that I wanted to bring to the screen according to my own vision. When I met Matilda Lutz, I knew she had the magic I was looking for.
Millennium Media CEO Jeffrey Greenstein is also pleased. He mentioned that it took a long time to start bringing the script to the screen, although the production team makes him very excited.
The new Red Sonia is directed by MJ Bassett, and the script was written by Joey Soloway and Tasha Huo. In addition to Matilda Lutz, the cast includes Wallis Day (Annisia), Robert Sheehan (Draygan), Michael Bisping (Hawk), Martyn Ford (General Karlak), Eliza Matengu (Amarak), Manal El Feitury (Ayala), Katrina Durden ( Saevus).
More information about the upcoming adaptation will probably be available soon, as production started quite recently.
