The animated series What If…? Announced by Marvel . presents completely new versions of the characters we know. This time, thanks to one of the posts on social media, fans had the opportunity to look at the next incarnation of Thor.
Long Haired Thor, Thor Gladiator, Fat Thor… – we saw not one face of Odin’s son on the screen. Thor’s new look appeared on merchandise related to the upcoming animated series What If… ?.
Party Thor, as this character is called, is supposed to be a more noisy and party version of the hero, different both in terms of appearance and character. Remembering the previous version of the Thunder God – he was and so quite entertaining and loud character, you can wonder if the new version of Thor will be so different from his canonical version.
It is worth noting that the hero created in What If …? it is supposed to be someone completely new. This is a character different from the one we saw in previous productions. Thor from the Avengers, his own series (including the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder) is a completely different person. On the other hand, the aforementioned Party Thor simply did not survive many things – e.g. Thanos’ original win, the loss of loved ones, and maybe even some of the events of Ragnarok.
All What If…? Episodes are based on a series of comics under the same title. Their main assumption is to answer a hypothetical question – what would happen if the events presented in the Marvel Universe unfolded in a different way than the one we got to know in the main storyline.
The animated series will appear on the Disney + platform. Probably, as in the case of the parts concerning the other characters, it refers to the events known to us from the series of cinema films – the Infinity Saga. The plot will not, however, affect the events that ended in Avengers: Endgame. This is just an alternative history. It is possible that characters appearing in “own episodes” will also appear in episodes involving other heroes.
The character will be voiced by Chris Hemsworth, who plays the role of Thor in earlier MCU acting productions.
