Sword Art Online was to return to the screens with a new film this fall. Unfortunately, the new report confirmed that the premiere will not take place as expected. The A-1 Pictures team is forced to delay it. The decision was made due to production problems related to COVID infections.
The message comes directly from the anime’s official social media . It was there that Internet users found out that the new film will not be released on September 10, as originally planned. At the moment, no new date has been announced, so Sword Art Online : Progressive – Scherzo of Deep Night has been canceled indefinitely.
The report noted that the delay was due to the “impact” of COVID-19. However, no particulars were given, we do not know who got the disease or how the infection spread. We do know that this is not the first time COVID has crossed plans in the anime industry. Not so long ago, Isekai Ojisan had production problems for this reason .
