The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for the first time in IMAX format!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring , one of the largest and most important film shows of the 21st century, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Polish premiere next month. On this occasion, this weekend, January 28-30, the Cinema City chain invites fans of the adaptation of Tolkien’s prose to unique screenings. For the first time in history, the Fellowship of the Ring will be screened in Polish cinemas in IMAX technology.

The first installment in the amazingly grossing and award-winning (all three games won 17 Oscars in total) The Lord of the Rings trilogydirected by Peter Jackson, tells the story of the beginnings of the eponymous Fellowship of the Ring, which is faced with the task of delivering and destroying the mighty Ring of Power in the distant and sinister land of Mordor. This is the only way to prevent the return to full strength of Sauron, the Dark Lord who threatens all living creatures in Middle-earth. The fate of the world rests on the shoulders of the Hobbit Frodo (played by Elijah Wood), who unexpectedly becomes the Ring-bearer. In addition to playing the main role, the film also features such stars of world cinema as Vigo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Olrando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Cate Blanchet, John Rhys-Davies, Andy Serkis, Sean Bean and Hugo Weaving.

For the first time Polish viewers will have the opportunity to watch The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in IMAX technology, which will allow for an even more complete experience of the adventures of the Fellowship of the Ring. Pictures for the film, which was shot in New Zealand, are considered to be one of the most beautiful cinematography in the history of cinematography, and viewing them in IMAX format will further emphasize their uniqueness. The film will be screened in Cinema City IMAX theaters from January 28-30.

IMAX is a one-of-a-kind, full-scale cinematic experience. Unusual impressions are provided by the widescreen, huge screen and perfect, spatial sound, thanks to the speakers placed in carefully designated places: behind the screen, on the sides of the room and on the ceiling. IMAX screens in Poland are 24 meters wide and 18 meters high, which, combined with sound effects, offers a film experience that exceeds the limits of your imagination.
