On May 24, 2022, Daedalic Entertainment and NACON announced the release date of the long-awaited The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Daedalic, which focuses on the hitherto unknown story of one of the most famous and iconic characters in fantasy history, will appear on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S on September 1, 2022. The port for the Nintendo Switch is planned to be released later this year.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a production based on the legendary JRR Tolkien trilogy The Lord of The Rings. The plot of the game tells the untold story of one of the most popular characters in the novel – Gollum. After losing his treasure to Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a dangerous journey leading from the dungeons of Barad-dûr to the Wood Elven Kingdom in Mirkwood. To survive the perilous journey through Middle-earth, Gollum must use his cunning to sneak between his opponents. The hero also has to face his Hobbit element – Sméagol. It will be up to the players whether the decisions will be made by Gollum or Sméagol. On his way, Gollum will meet characters known from JRR Tolkien’s novels, as well as new, non-canonical characters.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S on September 1, 2022. For console players, the game will be available in a boxed version.
