Garfield and Jon keep dating. Unfortunately, neither one nor the other can meet the expectations of their potential partners. The situation is aggravated by the appearance of Nermal, who seems even sweeter than before and causes uncontrollable jealousy in Garfield. Jon takes the opportunity to introduce a new partner to the householder – as he himself says “his intellectual equal”, but the reader doubts that this relationship may last longer. The tenth volume of the Fat Cat Three-Packit ends with an extremely sentimental scene: not only Garfield notices that he is getting old, so are his owner. However, this does not change the fact that the most important thing for the heroes is that they have each other and can count on each other.
