Disney has officially announced the production of the newest Lion King . However, it will not be a remake of the second part of the animation, which premiered in 1998. Most likely, the story will be completely original in the new part, but so far the details of the plot remain a mystery. We only know that the next installment will bring us closer to Mufasa and his origin, while not being a prequel to the first part. The director will be Barry Jenkins, known for creating the movie Moonlight , which won an Oscar in 2017. The first part of The Lion King was created by Jon Favreau, but the director is currently working on a series from the Star Wars universe – The Mandalorian. The script will be handed over to Jeff Nathanson again. There is no official information about the cast of the film yet. So we don’t know if we’ll hear the same voices in the next part.
Disney productions do not lose popularity, despite the passage of time. We see an increasing number of remakes, this time in the form of live action films. In recent years , Aladdin , Beauty and the Beast and Mulan have appeared on the big screen . We are still waiting for such productions as Pocahontas , The Little Mermaid , Peter Pan and just the next part of The Lion King .
There is no official production or release date for the movie, but we’ll probably see them in the coming months.
