We have been waiting for the new volume of Supers by Frédérick Maupomé and Dawid since autumn. The latest comic, also released in a non-standard format, hides no less secrets than the previous one. see for yourself!
Lined with longing
The story of young superheroes, which we got to know in the first volume , turned out to be an extremely interesting beginning. Now things start to get a bit more complicated… Mat, Lili and Benji live alone at home, stubbornly carry out their mission of superheroes and… neglect school. Although they are in the possession of superpowers, these do not always help, and sometimes even hinder. In addition, local newspapers publish information about superheroes who save the world from oppression … If nothing changes, perhaps the identity of the heroes will soon cease to be a secret, and then the relatively organized lives of supers will change forever – and they will have to run away again.
Kino superbohaterskie
The second volume of the series is a continuation of the ideas initiated in the debut proposal by Frédérick Maupomé and Dawid. I really like the way the siblings’ emotions are presented – from volume to volume they become very sensitive to rejection, appreciate the power of friendship, get emotionally involved in relationships and – as befits siblings – care for each other. It is true that Mat, Lili and Benji change under the influence of their peers, but they also quickly get into trouble.
The album’s graphic design deserves praise – it has been prepared taking into account the smallest details and – what is important – the cover itself signals the subject of the volume. Unfortunately, the authors did not manage to avoid some repetition – looking at the album, we have the impression that some scenes have already been drawn, as if we have already seen it. All in all, fire after fire. But this detail can be swallowed, calmly.
A comic book for every superhero fan
I believe that the Supersi series is perfect for both younger and older audiences. Superhero comics have their fans and are generally eagerly read, so the comic has an unquestionable chance of success! The reader subconsciously cheers for the siblings, remembering that they only have each other and can really rely on each other. Emotional deficiencies are insatiable, but together they try to fill them with love, friendship and trust. There’s no denying that a simple story is lined with a family drama, so if you don’t like such topics, skip Supers . However, if I encouraged you in this review to read, wait with me for the next volume. All I can say is that it’s already in the works!
