Warner Bros. Games has released the first trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 – the latest in the well-known and loved series of games created by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. It is full of dynamic action and a variety of characters fighting in duels that, according to tradition, result in a series of extensive and complex fractures. We will also see the Kameo Fighter assist system that allows you to choose additional, unique characters that will help the player during the fight. The whole mess takes place to the accompaniment of an original track entitled Fatal (Mortal Kombat 1) composed by ZHU – a Grammy-nominated artist.
The trailer introduces many legendary warriors and female fighters in new guises, while revealing the veil of secrecy about their past and the plot of the new Mortal Kombat 1. Liu Kang started history anew, creating a New Era in the name of peace. Mileena, Kitana’s twin sister and rightful heir to the throne of the Underworld, has been infected with a horrific and deadly disease. Lin Kuei warriors and brothers, Scorpion and Sub-Zero, battle for the future of their clan. Meanwhile, Earth Kingdom champions Raiden and Kung Lao fight for family – and honor. Johnny Cage, for whom popularity and the number of adoring fans matter most, fights motivated by his own vanity. Also joining the old squad is Kenshi Takahashi, who wants to recover the holy sword Sento and restore the good name of his family.
In addition, we will see fighters assisting in combat in the Kameo system, including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Kano, Goro, Kung Lao, Stryker and Jackson “Jax” Briggs. Each Kameo fighter is based on classic versions of characters collected from the 30-year history of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Assisting fighters assist in both offense and defense by delivering deadly blows, brutal fatalities, and interrupting the opponent’s attacks.

Mortal Kombat 1 will debut on September 19, 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™ and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). All those who pre-order Mortal Kombat 1 will receive Shang Tsung as a playable character. All those who pre-order the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms will also receive access to the Mortal Kombat 1 pre-order beta , which will be available from August 2023.
