It’s been a big year for Jurassic Park fans. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the film’s release, which has brought with it many exciting experiences honoring Steven Spielberg’s film. It seems the celebration isn’t over yet as Peacock confirmed today that a LEGO version of the movie is on its way. No official details about the project have been revealed, such as a release date or an official plot synopsis. A poster featuring the iconic LEGO logo of Jurassic Park has been published, which is enough to get fans of the series excited.
Animated special 65 million tiles in preparation. Soon in Peacock
– signed the poster official Peacock account.
The poster features a mini-figure of Ian Malcolm Jeff Goldblum saying “It’s one big pile of bricks”, a reference to a quote from the 1993 film.
This isn’t the first time LEGO has ventured into the series, as fans have previously received a LEGO Jurassic Park: Secret Exhibit TV special. It took place before the events of Jurassic Park in 2015. This special was followed by the 13-episode series LEGO Jurassic Park: Legend of Nublar Island , which similarly took place before the events of Jurassic Park.
Whatever awaits viewers, the upcoming retelling of the original storyline is sure to embrace the sense of fantasy and humor that other LEGO specials have offered, as well as hitting the main beats of the entire storyline.
Another reason this special will excite audiences is because Jurassic World Dominion , the sixth film in the franchise, was released last year. It served as payment for both Jurassic Park and the Jurassic World film series . There are currently no official plans for another film in the franchise, and even Dominion director Colin Trevorrow has previously admitted that there was never a need for any sequels.
I specifically did something different than other movies to change the DNA of the series. The previous five movies are stories about dinosaurs. This is a story about heroes in a world where they coexist with dinosaurs. For the franchise to move forward – since it’s inherently non-franchise, there should probably only be one Jurassic Park – but if we’re going to do that, how can I let them tell stories in a world where dinosaurs exist, as opposed to, here’s another reason why are we going to the island?
