“Travel the magical world of the gods in the Percy Jackson series on Disney+. Premieres December 20 – ready for an amazing adventure full of action and mystery?”

Serial LOTR: Wojna Rohirrimów na DVD

Percy Jackson and the Olympians become a TV series and acting reality. Author Rick Riordan has announced for the first time that a Disney+ adaptation of his best-selling novels is in the works in spring 2020.

Over the next two years, the scripts were refined and the three main characters were sought. In early spring 2022, Walker Scobell ( The Adam Project ) was selected for the role of Percy, followed by Leah Jeffries ( Beast ) and Aryana Simhadri ( Cheaper By the Dozen ) for the roles of Annabeth and Grover.

Production started in June of the same year, and the cameras worked hard for the next eight months. Along the way, a few familiar faces joined in to impersonate the Olympian gods. Percy Jackson finished filming in February this year, but as Riordan has often pointed out, the show needs time for thorough post-production ahead of its premiere.

Percy Jackson – what can we expect from the first season?

Speaking to ComicBook.com’s Liam Crowley in May , Riordan revealed that he had already watched all eight episodes:

I’ve seen drafts of all the episodes right now, lots of drafts as they go through the editing process. They are great. Honestly, I think my first reaction was relief. I thought, ‘Thank God. I think the fans will be pleased.’ This is what I really want.

The first episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will follow the events familiar to readers of The Lightning Thief, the first book in Percy Jackson’s pentalogy . The story introduces us to the title demigod who discovers his divine roots, leading him to the heights of divine Olympus in order to recover Zeus’ stolen thunderbolt.

Based on previous statements from Riordan and the crew, we can expect Percy Jackson’s season one to introduce us to iconic locations from The Lightning Thief , such as the Lotus Casino, Mount Olympus, Underworld, and the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.

Who will we see in the first season of the adventures of the fearless demigod?

As fans of the franchise know, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is just the first drop in a much larger fictional universe. That is why we will see many beloved characters from The Lightning Thief on our screens,  but for the rest we will have to wait until the next seasons of the series.

At Camp Half-Blood we will meet Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Jeffries), Grover (Aryan Simhadri), Luke (Charlie Bushnell) and Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn). On top of Mount Olympus we will see Zeus (Lance Reddick), Poseidon (Toby Stephens), Ares (Adam “Edge” Copeland), Hephaestus (Timothy Omundson), Dionysus (Jason Mantzoukas) and Hermes (Lin-Manuel Miranda).

We hope fans of the novel series will not be disappointed. Divine fun is coming! Below you can see the official trailer of the series, which will see the light of day on December 20 this year:
